Troy’s story: Believing in the possibilities ahead

May 26, 2026

Meet Troy Sanday, currently in his second year of a Bachelor of Engineering at University of Auckland. We sat down with Troy for a chat about his experience as a Keystone Trust student.

“In high school, I was lucky enough to have a good careers advisor. I think when I look back at it now, I’m grateful that I had someone who believed in me because, I’ll be honest, coming from South Auckland, you didn’t really think that you belonged in spaces like uni. But knowing that I had a teacher that believed in me, she pushed me to apply for a scholarship.”

Hear Troy’s story as he moved from Head Boy at De La Salle College, to studying for a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) at the University of Auckland and how a Keystone Trust scholarship is helping position him for his future career.
