Keystone Awards Evening 2017

November 17, 2017

The annual Keystone Awards Evening, is always a much-anticipated evening for the Keystone family. This highlight on the calendar brings together current students, alumni and a veritable who’s who of industry leaders from some of the finest organisations in the industry as we welcome our newest members to the keystone family. In all there were over 250 of the industry’s finest packed into the perfect setting of the brand-new venue: Generator @ GRID AKL, 12 Madden Street in Auckland’s Wynyard Quarter.

MC for the evening, George Hulbert from The Clarity Business opened proceedings, followed by Chairman of the Trust, General Manager of Built Environs, Greg Pritchard who took us on a journey celebrating the years milestones.  This year we presented 8 Study Award Scholarships and 9 Key Partner Scholarships during the evening. CEO of Precinct Properties & Keystone Trustee Scott Pritchard welcomed our eager 2018 Study Award recipients into the family. Each of our Keystone Students are extraordinary, and all have their own stories that have led them to finding our Keystone Programme. The speeches that our new students delivered on the evening truly cemented the belief that our Keystone family are supporting tomorrows property leaders.

“As a young woman entering the construction field it is a little intimidating but by having the keystone mentoring program it has given me so much more confidence.  I have a very clear vision for my future and I feel so immensely grateful that I have been given this opportunity to help me succeed both with entering my field and with financial assistance.”

A highpoint of the evening was hearing from Mike Higgins who recently stepped down from his role as Chairman. Mike has been an instrumental part of the Trust over the past 23 years. His leadership and innovation, whilst always keeping the spirit and values top priority, has seen the Trust flourish. Mike spoke about his journey with the Trust and notably his time leading the Trust’s student Selection Committee for 18 years and guiding it to its current model. Mike is being succeeded as Chair by Greg Pritchard, who is looking forward to growing the Trust and carrying on the mission that Mike and the Founding Trustees created when Keystone Trust was formed.

2018 will again bring another packed calendar of activities, thanks to our sponsors and supporters. We are looking forward to engaging everyone in all the opportunities that Keystone presents. This is what sets Keystone Students apart from the rest of the pack, and what makes the trust so special!

Here’s to another successful year at Keystone Trust!
