HISTORY

The Keystone New Zealand Property Education Trust (known as The Keystone Trust and formerly known as The Graeme Bringans Property Education Trust) is a charitable trust, established in 1994.

The Trust assists funding the education of students through the grant of Student Study awards seeking to complete a course directly associated with the property industry and who without such financial assistance and support, would be unable to do so.The Keystone Trust Student Study Awards comprise the Graeme Bringans scholarships and specific Key Sponsor awards (introduced in 2004).

In 2008 the Trust moved to its own offices, and appointed a full time administrator who is governed by a Board of Trustees, many who have been with the Trust since its inception.

Purpose of Keystone

The role of the Trust includes promoting and managing the Trust awards, promoting the sponsors, and selecting and mentoring recipients of the awards; also the maintenance and growth of the Trust’s current asset base to support awards now and in the future. The Keystone Trust has built up a solid investment base to support the current awards through previous fundraising efforts and the generosity of past and current sponsors and the work of Michael Chamberlain’s company MCA NZ Ltd, which is provided gratis. The Trust wishes to continue its good work for more first year students worthy of its support, and extends this assistance through the introduction of the Key Sponsor awards, in targeted areas of the property industry.

The value of each scholarship is up to a maximum of $25,000, with a payment of $5,000 per annum per student for the period of the selected degree. The Keystone Trust Student Study Scholarship is one of the more significant study grants available to students who are leaving school and intend enrolling at a tertiary institution in New Zealand the following year.

The Trust has three joint one year Keystone Scholarships with industry leaders, each valued at $5,000 per annum, available to students in their final or penultimate year of study:
